Whirlpool Is the Most Common Brand We Fix in Fargo
If you’ve owned an appliance in Fargo for more than a few years, there’s a good chance it’s a Whirlpool — or a brand that Whirlpool makes under a different name, like Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana, or JennAir. Whirlpool’s market share in this region is enormous, which means we see more Whirlpool service calls than any other brand. We know the parts, the quirks, the common failure patterns, and exactly what to bring on the truck.
Common Whirlpool Problems in Fargo
Whirlpool washers: The F21 error code (drain issue) is the most common Whirlpool washer call we get. Usually it’s a clogged pump filter or a failing drain pump. The F5 E2 door lock error is a close second on front-load models. We carry drain pumps and lid/door lock assemblies for most Whirlpool models.
Whirlpool refrigerators: Ice maker failures are extremely common. The Whirlpool icemaker module (WMAL module) fails over time, and so does the water inlet valve — especially with Fargo’s hard water creating mineral buildup. We also see defrost system failures on older WRS-series side-by-sides.
Whirlpool dishwashers: The F6E4 water supply error and F8E1 low water level error come up often. In Fargo’s hard water environment, the float switch can get stuck from mineral buildup, triggering these codes when the machine is otherwise fine.
Whirlpool dryers: Thermal fuse failures are the #1 call, especially in winter after vent icing. We carry thermal fuses for all Whirlpool/Maytag dryer models and can usually replace them same-day. See our washer & dryer repair page.

What does the F21 code mean on my Whirlpool washer?
F21 is a drain error — the washer isn’t draining within the expected time. In most cases it’s a clogged pump filter (there’s a clean-out access panel on most front-load models at the bottom front) or a failing drain pump. In Fargo, we sometimes find lint-heavy loads from outdoor work clothing contributing to more frequent clogs. This is usually a same-day fix.
My Whirlpool refrigerator stopped making ice — what’s wrong?
The most common causes are a failed ice maker module, a failed water inlet valve (especially in hard water areas like Fargo), or a frozen water supply tube. We recommend checking that the shut-off arm is in the down position first. If it is, call us — we carry Whirlpool ice maker parts and can usually fix this same-day. See our ice maker repair page.
How much does Whirlpool appliance repair cost in Fargo?
Most Whirlpool repairs run $120–$300 including parts and labor, depending on the appliance and component. The $75 diagnostic fee is applied toward your repair. See our appliance repair cost guide for typical price ranges by appliance.
Do you have Whirlpool parts in stock?
We keep common Whirlpool parts on the truck — drain pumps, lid switches, thermal fuses, inlet valves, ice maker modules, and door latches for the most common models. Less common parts we can typically source within 1–2 business days.
